My intention in 2021 was to try to return to journaling everyday. I’m already flailing but I did get a late start. Recommitting here and now to try and get something out here at least 3 times a week going forward.
Today marks one week with President Biden, Madame Vice President Harris and blessedly little news (or tweets) regarding that last guy.
This administration heralds the most diverse cabinet in the history of the presidency. Diversity is fantastic and I applaud their purposeful choices. However, what I give more credence to, what really matters, even more than diversity, is that near all of the appointees are, say it with me, kids:
QUALIFIED
They are experts in the subject-area, they have experience, they do not deny science or facts. This, to my mind, is a critical win for the American people.
Biden has already issued over 30 executive orders, memorandums, mandates, etc. Daily briefings and phone transcripts are published to the public. Transparency has returned to the White House.
Ironically, despite all the bitching, the American public seem to approve — he has a 53% approval rating overall after only a week. That’s right, higher than his predecessor ever had (at 49%).
To wrap up today with some enlightening news…
Andrew Jackson will be ousted from defacing the twenty dollar bill and replaced by Harriet Tubman. We’re getting better, folks. We just have to keep up the fight.
