The Twelve Kindoms: Sea of Wind, Fuyumi Ono
Enjoyed the second book. Not sure when the third is coming out. I found out that there is a comic book and anime as well. There is a good interview with the author on the AnimeNetwork. I recommend this series and am looking forward to the third book.
