The Somnambulist, Jonathan Barnes
Read this at the request of my Mom who thought it was quite disturbing. Compared to the kind of stuff I usually read I found it rather dull. Mom said there were parts that gave her nightmares. (Guess I won’t lend her Queen of Blood or The Ruins – she’d freak after the first few pages) Sadly, I couldn’t really get into the story… what there was of one. I also thought the narrator turning out to be one of the main characters was a poor literary device, at least in this case. This is the authors first novel and I won’t be reading his second.
