Son (age 10): I don’t ever want to get married and if someone ever forces me to I’m just gonna shoot myself on my wedding day.
Mom: Wouldn’t it be easier to just not get married? We do still live in a time where it’s the guy that usually does the asking. Just don’t ever ask anyone. And if you do ever want to marry someone you have to ask her father’s permission first.
Daughter (age 14): But Mom! I’ll never get married that way! All of my boyfriends are afraid of Dad!
Mom: Someday, if the guy really loves you, he won’t be afraid to talk to your Dad.
Son: Yeah, true love isn’t afraid of anything… except maybe a giant hungry bear.
